The strongest DOCA rooms use contrast with restraint: warm wood against porcelain, bronze or glass as an accent, and lacquer where a volume should become visually quiet.

Porcelain is valuable because the visual idea can continue across large surfaces while supporting heat, stain and maintenance requirements. The exact slab, edge, seam, substrate and fabrication method still need project-specific review.
We do not call every veined surface marble, and we do not treat material performance as a slogan. The specification follows the selected product.

Is the veined surface marble?
In the Brookline showroom kitchens documented here, the marble-like worktops and waterfall surfaces are porcelain. Natural stone may appear in other specific applications, but the material should always be identified accurately per project.
Why use porcelain in a kitchen?
Large-format porcelain can create continuous visual surfaces with strong resistance to heat, stains and everyday wear. Performance varies by product, thickness and fabrication, so exact specifications should be reviewed for the selected slab.
Can cabinetry finishes continue into other rooms?
Yes. DOCA's product language extends to wardrobes, bathrooms and living systems, allowing one wood, lacquer, glass or metal vocabulary to continue beyond the kitchen.
